This week the old chimney in the main cape came down. The two men were very careful of the dust. Removing it has lightened the upstairs where it blocked the light fixture, and it has also created a larger rough space for a closet in the bathroom. I haven't been in the cellar yet to see how that is. The reason we had it taken down was because it was collapsing into the cellar and beginning to take flooring with it. I feel a sense of relief. I'll post photos after I get them loaded up.
